Venice. I loved this place so much, it is my favorite by far of all the places I've been able to visit.
On the first day there, my roommate Brittany and I went and explored all the different parts of the city and this picture was taken on some famous bridge that I have know idea what it is called! i know I am a terrible tourist but I still loved it.
Just another picture to show why this place was amazing, it was so pretty and I wish I could live here forever!
S. Marco's square and basilica, we got lost multiple times trying to find this square with no map but it was way worth it, the inside was just as pretty.
So we go into this mask shop thinking that we were just going to look around and next thing we know, the owner is dressing us up with costumes and masks. haha it was so funny and I think we spent like 30 minutes in the shop.
My roommate Brittany and I on the famous bridge.
And my day was complete with a little rain, which is normal in Italy and I bet I will be spoiled by the time I get back to the hot desert!
The second day in Venezia was spent taking a tour of all the Venetian Islands that surround Venice. It was actually really cool because there werent as many tourists on the small islands and we got to ride around in a boat all day!
Torcello was one of my favorite islands because it was the first 'venice' back in 800 ad and had one of the oldest churches, which is what I am standing in front of. It was so green and it made you feel like you were in the middle of nowwhere.
This wasn't posed at all! just kidding but good thing I got lucky with a roommate who loves acting like a kid just as much as I do.And that includes pretending to push me in the water just like Peter Pan. (Almost every conversation we have always refers back to a disney movie, I love it.)
Lunchtime! and I actually ate SOME of it. Italian meals can be very interesting sometimes. Fisherman from one of the islands made us lunch and I stil don't know what it was. This was only the first course out of 5 and the worst part about it if you don't eat everything off your dish of every course, the italians get really offended and you have to explain to them why you didnt eat it all. I just stick with "no non feme, grazie'
Another island we went to was soo colorful! (Sorry too many island names to remember) But I am really glad I got to see each one. Throughout the day we went to a glass blowing demonstration, went to a really old church, went through a monastry, experienced new food, and did I mention disney songs? It was so much fun and if you ever drop by in Italia for some reason you HAVE to go to Venice, it was the best!
