Not all school.

It has been some time since I have last posted
and I am paying for it now... We've had quite
the adventures as of late so I hope that I can
share it with ya. A few weeks ago, we made our
way to Danshui Fisherman's Wharf. Not only did
it have the best weather I've felt all summer
long (compliments of the ocean wind) but it
was a quaint harbor. Next in line of events,
was Taiwan's National Palace Museum. Sounds
intriguing right? We thought the same thing
until we share our fair share of Chinese scrolls
and eating utensils. It was a perfect thing to
do on a rainy day. We had about a week of non
stop rain. I'd like it if it was acid rain!
For real! Google it.

Next, we checked out some Buddah Temples. They were all very Chinese-y bit it was actually pretty interesting to see how they worship. At least once a week, you will see them burning fake money in a can to send up to their ancestors.

I am excited to say that I  finally went shopping for the first time since I've been here. I love how easy it is to bargain. While we were shopping around the night market, it was finally time to try my first night market food. It was a big deal if you show the
food. It is pretty daring! I had to take a picture of Britton buying it and me trying it. Let's just say that I only took one bite.

This weekend, we took a trip to Taicheng to visit a missionary, George Lin, that Britton and Chris served w/. We did an all-day trip (Literally all-day, from 5AM to Midnight)to visit a place called Sun moon lake. Although hot, it was really pretty. It was funny though because it is such a different culture here. In America, if there's a lake close by,it is definitely used for recreational purposes. As for Taiwan, you will get fined if you go swimming, it is more just to look at. And when I say fined, I mean 2000 bones USD! The trip was also very educational as well. Now we know how to make honey and take pictures of peacocks. The Lin Family was so nice to make us dinner and it was seriously the best Taiwanese food I have had so far. Britton and Chris thought they were kings or something? Not surprising!

I will blog more frequent because our time is running short. I can't believe we only have three more weeks left on this beautiful island. I need to make sure to live it up as well as blog it up too:)I will miss thislittle island. It's been good to us!
